The First Trust Global Wind Energy ETF is seeing unusually high volume in afternoon trading Wednesday, with over 191,000 shares traded versus three month average volume of about 81,000. Shares of FAN were up about 0.1% on the day.
Components of that ETF with the highest volume on Wednesday were Nextera Energy, trading down about 0.5% with over 4.3 million shares changing hands so far this session, and General Electric, up about 1.1% on volume of over 2.0 million shares. Proshares Ultra Semiconductors is the component faring the best Wednesday, up by about 4% on the day, while American Superconductor is lagging other components of the First Trust Global Wind Energy ETF, trading lower by about 2.2%.
