The Economist taps Lankes as its Brazil correspondent


Ana Lankes

The Economist has named Ana Lankes to be its Brazil correspondent.

She has been its Latin America correspondent. She covers politics, economics, and society in South America.

Previously she was the paper’s Argentina and Chile correspondent, based in Buenos Aires. She has also worked for the New York Times and has been interviewed by the BBC World Service, Times Radio, and Argentine and Chilean radio.

Lankes graduated with a double first class degree in history from Oxford University and has a joint master’s degree in international relations from the London School of Economics and Sciences Po Paris. She speaks German, Spanish and Portuguese.
