- Best Buy – most stores open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
- Home Depot – closes early at 6 p.m.
- Kohl’s – most locations will be open until 7 p.m.
- Target – expected to be open until 9 p.m.
- Kroger – should be open during regular hours
- Whole Foods – hours may be limited
- H-E-B – expected to be open during regular hours
- Food Lion – should be open during regular hours
- Walmart – regular business hours

The post office, stock and bond markets, and government offices usually follow a similar holiday schedule. They all close in observance of New Year’s Day and will also be closed on New Year’s Eve this year since it falls on a Sunday.
