Tesla Taps Into X For Hiring: Here's What Elon Musk Says - Microsoft (NASDAQ:MSFT), Tesla (NASDAQ:TSLA)

Electric vehicle giant Tesla Inc. TSLA has started hiring on Elon Musk‘s social media platform X (formerly Twitter) and the CEO thinks it’s cool.

What Happened: Various job openings are now being listed on the company’s Tesla AI handle for Palo Alto location. But Musk’s Tesla is not the only one looking to hire through X.

Others now advertising job openings on X include Coinbase, Y Combinator and Axios. “Really exciting to see so many companies hiring with X,” Chris Bakke of X wrote on Friday.

“We’ve gone from 0 to hundreds of companies using XHiring in under two months, and have some exciting updates shipping over the next few weeks,” he added. Musk responded to Bakke with a cryptic but appreciative, “Cool.”

Why It Matters: XHiring is a feature under testing currently available solely to verified organizations on the social media platform. It helps them feature critical roles on their profiles and reach relevant candidates for open positions.

The feature is a possible competitor to Microsoft Corporation‘s MSFT LinkedIn. Musk has previously called LinkedIn “cringe” and hinted that he plans to introduce an alternative.

“People send me LinkedIn links sometimes, but the cringe level is so high that I just can’t bring myself to use it, so I ask for the resume or bio to be emailed. We will make sure that the X competitor to LinkedIn is cool,” Musk then said.
