Reuters has hired Rosa Furneaux as a reporter on its investigations team.
Furneaux has been at The Bureau of Investigative Journalism specializing in global health issues, with particular focus on access to health care.
She received the Amnesty International Gaby Rado Award for New Journalist for her coverage of Covid-19 vaccine inequity. In 2022 she was named the Association of British Science Writers’ Newcomer of the Year, and one of MHP-Mischief’s 30 Young Journalists To Watch. In 2021, she was awarded the Association of British Science Writers’ prize for investigative journalism, and the Foreign Press Association award for best science story.
Before joining TBIJ, she worked for investigative news magazine Mother Jones and freelanced for publications in the UK, US and east Africa. She holds a master’s in journalism from the University of California, Berkeley.
