Brightwaters-based Moxxie Foundation, which offers support for career advancement of youg women and women in job transition, is now accepting nominations for its annual MoXY Awards program.
The programs aims to highlight male business leaders – as well as companies, organizations and institutions – who have demonstrated consistent support of women in the workplace and a passion for enabling women to achieve leadership roles within the business sector.
“The MoXY Awards is an opportunity for our organization to do something unusual – highlight the men making a difference in the career paths of women,” Beth Meixner, the organization’s executive director, said in a written statement.
“The vital role men play in the success of female professionals is often overlooked,” she added. “But as we like to say here at Moxxie, ‘Moxxie loves men!’ We want to celebrate the men and companies, identified by real women and their peers, who demonstrate a genuine passion for elevating female professionals in our community.”
Previous honorees include Michael Dowling, president and CEO of Northwell Health; Richard Humann, president and CEO of H2M architects + engineers; Ken Cerini, managing partner and Cerini & Associates, and others.
Nominees undergo an extensive evaluation process to be selected as a MoXY honoree. Following their submission, a member of the MoXY review committee interviews the nominator and listed references to hear firsthand how the nominee has sought to elevate women in the business community.
Selected honorees will be celebrated at an elegant awards and fundraising celebration June 5 from 6 p.m.- 8:30 p,n, at The Mansion at Oyster Bay in Woodbury.
