The Fintech Ecosystem of Ghana in 2022 by Richie Santosdiaz for The Fintech Times

Network International, a digital commerce enabler for the Middle East and Africa (MEA), is to launch a new office and data centre in Ghana.

The facility is to drive revenue and profitability to customers, helping businesses and economies prosper. The digital commerce company aims to simplify commerce and payments in the Ghanaian market.

The announcement came during BII’s World Payment Innovation Summit in Accra. The move becomes Network International’s official launch of its presence in Ghana. The network explained it is ready to serve 15 banks in Ghana, alongside other third-party processors on its infrastructure.

Network has completed its setup in Ghana, in part due to the payments services act in the country. The Ghanaian act requires service providers to be based in Ghana.

The company is looking to establish more partnerships with businesses in the digital payments space in Ghana. It hopes to work with local banks and financial institutions to offer customers more payment options and increase financial inclusion.

The centre has already started migrating fintechs, banks and other payment partners onto its platform for local processing. Network explains that this explains its commitment of complying with local regulations, as it has done globally; including Jordan, Saudi Arabia and Nigeria previously.

Network International‘s offices in Nigeria, South Africa, Kenya, Egypt and now Ghana highlights its presence across Africa’s key markets. Via these offices, it can operate across almost all other African countries.
