Biden To The Stand: Hunter's Team Threatens To Involve President If Charges Pressed

In a recent development, lawyers for Hunter Biden reportedly sent a stark warning to prosecutors.

The attorneys indicated that, if charges were pressed against Hunter, they would not hesitate to call upon President Joe Biden to testify in his son’s defense, according to Politico

Following the news that federal agents possessed compelling evidence to charge Hunter with illicitly acquiring a firearm during his crack cocaine usage, Chris Clark, Hunter’s lawyer, sent a letter to the Justice Department last October.

“President Biden now unquestionably would be a fact witness for the defense in any criminal trial,” the letter stated, according to Politico.

Documents, including Clark’s letter and an additional 300 pages of emails, were reviewed by Politico, revealing the circumstances that led to the disintegration of Hunter’s plea agreement. The deal, which faced criticism from congressional Republicans for its perceived leniency, would have shielded Hunter from incarceration.

However, the deal fell apart after U.S. District Judge Maryellen Noreika voiced concerns about ongoing inquiries into Hunter’s other potential infractions, including unregistered foreign transactions that also allegedly implicate his father.

Clark and his team consistently conveyed their apprehensions to prosecutors about the politically charged backdrop of the case, underscoring

the potential harm to the Department of Justice’s standing and the undue influence from Republicans.

Clark also reportedly cautioned about the constitutional upheaval that would arise from prosecuting the president’s son, thereby setting the president against his own Justice Department.

Recently, misdemeanor tax charges against Hunter were dismissed by Noreika. Attorney General Merrick Garland appointed Delaware U.S. Attorney David Weiss as the special counsel for the case, empowering him to levy charges without the consent of other Biden-appointed officials.
